Elevate Your Game

Winning Starts When Nobody is Watching

by Shawn Jones on Nov 10, 2025

For Coach Kellie Kennedy of Loyola University in New Orleans, winning is almost second nature.  With nearly 400 wins, 12 consecutive NAIA National Championship Tournament appearances, 7 SSAC Championships, and being named National Coach of the Year, it might be easy to think that she could relax and rest on her accomplishments.

Not Coach Kennedy.  Winners don’t relax or rest.  Her drive to continually improve and advance her team has her working harder than ever in pursuit of a National Championship.

Part of Loyola’s development has included utilizing technology to organize and chart individual players’ skill development.  Coach Kennedy selected Ballogy to be their team management platform and challenged her players with the accountability and competitive functions of the app to maximize their improvement.

Spearheading the Ballogy app implementation within the team, Assistant Coach Presley Waskom, who actually played at Loyola for Coach Kennedy, has taken on the role of creating individual workout assignments for the team.

Together through the Ballogy app, Coach Kennedy and Coach Waskom have begun charting individual player shooting session stats, conditioning completion, defensive footwork drill quality, as well as filming team practice sessions for shot selection, as well as possession and scoring efficiency.

The days of telling players to do conditioning on their own are not only ineffective, but archaic.  Loyola coaches can see within the app as players push themselves through conditioning drills on their own time, in their own location, all while the app ranks players with leaderboards of completion and performance markers.

Through Ballogy’s AI-powered automatic shot tracking, Loyola’s players have put up nearly 15,000 shots in the last two months. With raw video, statistical data and heat maps at the touch of their fingertips, the coaching staff is able to not only see that their players are putting in shooting reps, but they are also able to see how.  With data at a glance and supportive video on hand, they are able to provide feedback and instruction any time of day, from any location.  No more waiting until the next day at practice to emphasize the great shooting session a player had the night before – Loyola coaches can capitalize on the moment, in the moment!

With team messaging functions in the Ballogy app, Loyola coaches and athletes can keep communications in one place, a safe-space, with technology that moderates and flags inappropriate language or images.  The team calendar is a one-stop shop for their team practice schedules, leave times, schedule changes, and any daily organizational needs Loyola may have.

Winners are always looking for an edge to win more.  Coach Kennedy at Loyola University has proven she can, and will, win.  Looking for that edge to win more, she has utilized Ballogy.  If the Ballogy app can help her team get even 1%, 3% or 5% better this season, what will that mean for the Wolf Pack’s chances at bringing home a National Championship?  A driven coach like Kellie Kennedy isn’t going to let the chance to find out slip by!

It’s not magic.  It won’t do the work for them.  But Loyola athletes are utilizing Ballogy to help them work smarter, more efficiently, and more organized in their quest to Elevate Their Game and hang more championship banners in The Den!
